Embed a financial calculator

Put any AdviceOnly calculator on your own website for free. Choose a calculator and its colors, copy the code, and paste it into your page’s HTML.

Updates reach your page on their own

The calculator runs from our site, so when we add a new tax year, correct an error or improve a chart, your page shows the new version the next time it loads. You never need to replace the code. The code you paste sets only which calculator appears, its colors, the numbers it starts with, its starting height and any maximum width.

The credit line

The code includes one line under the calculator, “This … calculator is powered by AdviceOnly”, with the calculator’s name linking to its page on our site. It is the only link the code adds. It is part of your page, so your site’s own fonts and colors apply to it, and you can mark it nofollow if your site treats outside links that way. Please keep it visible: our Terms of Service (section 8) ask for that in return for free use.

Questions

Does it cost anything?
No. The calculators are free to embed, with no signup and no account.
Where can I use it?
On most sites that let you add your own HTML, such as a custom HTML block in a page editor. Some site builders remove scripts from pasted code. If yours does, turn off Resize to fit automatically and the calculator will sit in a fixed-height box instead.
Will it fit my page?
Yes. It takes the full width of the column you paste it into and rearranges itself for that width, from a phone up. With Resize to fit automatically on, its height follows its content too. On a wide page you can set a maximum width.
Can it start with my own example numbers?
Yes. Open the calculator, enter the numbers you want, then choose Embed on your site from its Save & share options menu. This page will offer to start the calculator with those numbers. Your readers can still change every field.
What happens to what my readers type?
It stays in their browser. Nothing they enter is sent to AdviceOnly or to you, and the embedded calculator runs no analytics and sets no cookies.
